We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health & Benefits team at Mercer Health & Benefits. This role will be based in Chicago. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. As a Senior Health & Benefits Consulting Analyst, you will have the opportunity to enhance your industry knowledge and consulting skills while collaborating with senior consultants to design and administer health and welfare programs for our clients.
We will count on you to:
- Assist senior consultants with reviewing client needs, recommending suitable approaches, and helping implement benefit program strategies.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret health care data for reporting to the client.
- Develop an awareness of the insurance vendor marketplace, plan designs, health care cost factors, and the renewal process for health and group benefit programs.
- Coordinate the Request for Proposal (RFP) process on behalf of a client.
- Help write and structure client communications including proposals, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and subject matter experts, as well as develop relationships with clients.
- Interact with carriers and vendors to gather quotes, negotiate, handle client service issues, and review plan documentation.
What you need to have:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent - GPA must be 3.0 or above.
- 0-3 years of professional experience - open to fresh graduates.
- Be a self starter.
- Ability to work at a fast pace, both independently and in a team environment.
- Capacity to manage competing priorities with strong time management skills.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office — Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person. The applicable base salary range for this role is $54,000 to $108,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives. We are excited to offer a competitive total rewards package which includes health and welfare benefits, tuition assistance, 401K savings and other retirement programs as well as employee assistance programs.
