Hayward Unified School District will provide a contribution of up to $2,500 per year to be used towards a District healthcare plan or cash in lieu of up to $1,350 per year. Full-time employees are required to purchase medical health benefits unless proof of alternate coverage is provided. Half-time and less than half-time employees may participate on a voluntary basis. The balance of health benefit costs are paid through a pre-tax payroll deduction. Dental coverage is provided free of charge for all employees working 20 hours per week, or more. Family coverage is available and any additional premium will be employee paid. Classified employees must participate in the CalPERS Retirement program. All employees are enrolled in an Employee Assistant Program (EAP). The District also offers various optional benefits including life insurance, short term disability, and a medical and dependent care flexible spending option. Vacation

Management Team members assigned to work a 224-day work year shall have a 22-day vacation period as approved by the Superintendent of schools. No more than a total of 40 days of vacation may be accumulated for payment at the time of retirement or resignation. Holidays

Annual employees receive fifteen (16) paid holidays per year. Employees working the following number of days shall have the following amount of sick leave credited annually to their records at the beginning of the fiscal year, July 1. Classified & Certificated Management: Working Days : Sick Days Allotted 190 : 10 days 6 hours 192 : 10 days 7 hours 195 : 11 days 196 : 11 days 1 hour 197 : 11 days 1 hour 199 : 11 days 3 hours 200 : 11 days 3 hours 207 : 11 days 5 hours 210 : 11 days 7 hours 219 : 12 days 4 hours 224 : 12 days 6 hours

Confidential & Supervisory Employees: Full time employees working 12months a year shall be credited with 13 days of sick leave

Professional Development Management employees are eligible to receive an annual stipend for obtaining further education. Only one degree stipend will be awarded per employee. Supervisors & Confidential Employees: AA Degree (related field) - $350 BA/BS - $600

Classified and Certificated Management Employees: Masters Degree - $550 Doctorate Degree - $725

Other Compensation Employees designated as Confidential will receive a stipend of $900 annually. Longevity stipends will be given to employees with approved professional experience with HUSD at the following increments: Classified and Certificated Management & Supervisory Employees: 10 years : $1,200 15 years : $1,800 20 years : $2,400 25 years : $3,000 30 years : $4,200 Confidential Employees: 10 years : $1,000 15 years : $1,500 20 years : $2,000 25 years : $2,500 30 years : $3,500
